Are you fed up with snoozing your alarms in the morning? Do you struggle to wake up early in the morning? If you think you are the one who wants to wake up early in the morning but fails every morning to get out of bed on time, here are a few tips to become a morning person.
There is a famous proverb – “Early to bed, early to rise, is the way to be healthy, wealthy, and wise.” Getting up early in the morning not only promotes physical health but also improves your mental health.
Ayurveda advises to wake up early in the Brahmamuhurta. It is approximately one hour thirty-six minutes before sunrise. It changes every day, and it is different from place to place, depending upon the latitude and geographical location. For example, if the sunrise is at 5 am, Brahmamuhurta will begin at 3:24 am; if the sun rises at 7 am, Brahmamuhurta begins at 5:24 am.
If you are new to this concept, you don’t have to worry about waking up in Brahmamuhurta. Instead, focus on waking up at least before or around sunrise time.
Now, the concern is how to wake up in the morning. The most common cause of being unable to wake up early is sleeping late at night. If you are one of those who spend your nighttime scrolling social media, watching TV shows, or playing games, you need to change this habit from today itself.
Here are the top three tips to wake up early in the morning:
If you want to wake up early in the morning, you need to have a good night ritual. For this reason, you have to follow the below-given tips.
1. Do not use any electronic device one hour before sleep:
A study suggests that blue light coming from your phone can suppress the production of a hormone (melatonin) that controls your sleep-wake cycle. Due to this, it gets difficult to sleep on time at night. As a result, you may feel sleepless at night.
If you don’t sleep between 9 pm to 11 pm, you can’t wake up before sunrise. So, keep yourself away from the phone, television, etc., and sleep early every night.
Note: Sunrise is different in different places. So, make adjustments according to your region.
The sleeping hours differ from person to person; some require 6 hours, and others may need 8 hours of sleep. Therefore, the goal is to complete your sleep cycle and wake up early before sunrise.
2. Read an inspiring book before going to bed:
Reading a book can be relaxing for you. If you are new to this, start reading at least 10 minutes before going to bed. It will help you develop a habit, and you will find it very relaxing. As a result, you will get good sleep, and it will get easier for your to wake up early.
3. Keep your alarm away:
If you need an alarm to wake you up, keep it away from your reach. You can put it at least a few steps away so that you have to get out of your bed when you listen in the morning. Just after turning off your alarm, go to the washroom and wash your face with the water. It will help you get up early and enjoy your morning.
You can easily adapt this habit to your routine. You just have to bring a little bit of discipline and consistency in your life, and you are good to go. If you have any medical condition related to your sleep (insomnia), consult an Ayurvedic physician near you to get back your sleep with the help of some herbs and better guidelines.
