As per Ayurveda, neck pain occurs due to the aggravated Vata dosha (energy). The below-mentioned ways will help balance your Vata and reduce neck pain.

Here are the five incredible natural ways to get rid of neck pain due to bad posture!

1. Hot pack

A hot pack is helpful for neck pain due to bad posture. It improves the flow of oxygen in the affected area. Therefore, applying hot fomentation on the affected area reduces neck pain.

How to use it?

Apply a heating pad on the affected area for 10 to 15 minutes two or three times a day.

If you are using a rubber bottle, keep a cotton cloth covered around it.

2. Oil massage

According to Ayurveda, to live a healthy life, one should practice oil massage every day. It improves blood circulation and also cures pain. Above all, it keeps you healthy overall.

You should massage your neck and shoulder every day. As a result, it will improve circulation, reduce pain, and strengthen the neck muscles.

*Do not massage if you have swelling, fever, infection, vomiting, or diarrhea.

How to do it?

  • Massage your neck, shoulder region, and arms gently with warm oil.

Oil massage relaxes neck muscles and helps you get rid of neck pain and stiffness. Warm sesame oil and gently massage in the neck and shoulder region—massage for a minimum of 5 to 10 minutes half an hour before bath.

3. Yoga/Exercise

Yoga or exercise is essential to get permanent relief from neck pain. You cannot skip this, even if you are practicing other remedies.

Due to the bad postures, the neck muscles get weak and stressed. Regular Yoga and neck exercises improve the range of motion. It also strengthens the neck muscles. Therefore, it prevents neck pain.

Yoga for neck pain:

Balasana (child pose), Bitilasana( cow pose), and Trikonasana (triangle pose).

4. Stand every 30 minutes:

If you get regular neck aches, then avoid sitting for more than 30 minutes. Keep a reminder, stand up every 30 minutes, take a stroll, and come back to your seat.

If you cannot do this, at least stand for 5 minutes every 30 minutes. You can take a stroll break after one hour. Thus it will help you prevent neck pain.

5. Sleeping posture:

Make sure you sleep in a comfortable position at night. The best is to sleep on your back or your side. Another important factor is the pillow. Use a thin microfiber pillow. It will support the curvature of the neck and promote better alignment. As a result, you will wake up fresh with no neck pain.
