There are many different theories on how much water one should drink. Some health experts suggest drinking eight glasses of water every day. But, it completely varies from person to person. Many factors like body type, temperature, environment, diet, and others ultimately affect how much water one should drink. So, be wise and don’t count the glasses of water you are drinking; instead, watch out for your thirst and hydration symptoms.
As per Ayurveda, one should drink water when they feel thirsty. It is the easiest way to know that your body requires water to function well. If you are a good observer, you will notice when you are thirsty and fulfill your body’s requirements.
But, sometimes, people are confused about their thirst and say they don’t feel thirsty. Now, what to do in such a situation. In such a case, you can observe your hydration symptoms.
If you fail to observe your thirst, watch for two vital signs given-below to see whether you are hydrated well or not:
1.Keep checking the color of your urine:
If your urine is dark yellow, you have not hydrated enough. Keep drinking water and see every time you pee. Once you start passing pale clear urine, you can understand that your body is hydrated.
2.Observe your mouth and lips:
Another sign is dry mouth and lips. If your mouth and lips are getting dry means your body is getting dehydrated. You can drink a sufficient amount of water and fulfill your body’s requirements in such a situation.
You can even drink other beverages like juices, coconut water, buttermilk, herbal drinks to hydrate your body. Therefore, sip other hydrating drinks as well and prevent yourself from dehydration.
